Getting started
Who can get a Magic Pay card?
Anyone 18 or over (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) who completes verification and isn’t a resident of a restricted jurisdiction. The list is on the Countries page.
Do I need a bank account?
No. The card is topped up only with USDT from a crypto wallet or exchange. No bank account, no card-to-card transfers.
How much does it cost?
The virtual card is $25 and the physical card is $250. Top-ups carry a 3.5% fee. The full list is on the Fees and limits page.
How long does verification take?
Usually about five minutes. You’ll need a valid passport, national ID card or driver’s license, a selfie and proof of address. Details are on the Verification page.
Is there an app in the App Store or Google Play?
Magic Pay runs as a web app at app.magic.top. It works in any browser on your phone or computer. Add it to your home screen to open it like a regular app.
Cards
What’s the difference between the virtual and the physical card?
The virtual card is for online purchases and paying by phone through Apple Pay or Google Pay; it has no PIN and doesn’t work at ATMs. The physical card adds payment terminals and cash withdrawals. Both share one balance.
How long does the physical card take to arrive?
You can collect the card free of charge at the Magic Pay office in Dubai (ask support for the address and hours) or order delivery to another country (the fee depends on the country and is shown in the app). Delivery takes 7–14 days from when you order, and the card is handed to you in person.
How do I activate the physical card?
Open the app, go to the card and tap “Activate”. Until then the physical card can’t be used, while the virtual card keeps working as usual.
Where do I find the PIN?
In the app, on the physical card’s screen. The PIN is never printed on paper or sent by email.
Can I have several cards?
Yes: up to 5 virtual and up to 3 physical cards per account. All of them draw from the same balance.
What happens when a card expires?
A virtual card is valid for 5 years. Before a card expires, order a replacement in the app; the balance stays on your account.
How do I close a card?
In the app, on the card’s screen. The remaining balance is returned in USDT to a wallet address you specify, once any pending transactions, disputes and pre-authorizations have been settled.
I lost my card. What do I do?
Freeze it in the app immediately, check your recent transactions, then order a replacement (virtual — free, physical — paid; the app shows the fee). Step-by-step instructions are on the Security page.
Top-up
Which coins and networks do you accept?
Only USDT, on TRC20 (Tron) and BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain). Other assets are coming later. Until then, they must not be sent: anything other than USDT won’t be credited and can’t be recovered.
I sent USDT to an address from an earlier top-up.
Each top-up has its own top-up address, and addresses from earlier top-ups aren’t monitored. Funds sent to an old address aren’t credited automatically and usually can’t be recovered. Contact support in the app with the transaction hash. We’ll check what can be done, but we can’t promise a return. Next time, always start a new top-up and send only to the address it shows. See the top-up rules.
I sent funds on the wrong network or the wrong token.
Unfortunately, funds sent on an unsupported network or as a token other than USDT are generally unrecoverable. Always check the network before you confirm a transfer.
My top-up hasn’t arrived.
First check the transaction in the network’s block explorer. Top-ups are credited after 20 network confirmations, which usually takes a few minutes. If the transaction is confirmed and your balance hasn’t updated, contact support in the app and include the transaction hash. Don’t send a second transfer to the same address “to be safe”.
Is there a minimum top-up?
Yes, 25 USDT per transfer. A smaller transfer is credited, but with a $5 processing fee. A top-up address is valid for 1 hour.
When will you add other coins?
BTC, ETH, USDC and other assets are planned. We’ll announce them in the app and on the site when they go live.
Payments and cash
Why was my payment declined?
The most common reasons: the card is frozen; there isn’t enough balance once the conversion rate is applied; a limit was exceeded; the merchant is in a blocked category (for example, gambling or buying crypto); the 3-D Secure code wasn’t entered; or the relevant toggle (online, contactless or ATM) is switched off.
My payment was declined, but the money left my balance.
That’s a pre-authorization: the merchant reserved the amount but didn’t confirm the charge. The hold is released automatically, usually within 30 days, depending on the merchant.
How do I dispute a transaction?
Contact support in the app with the date, amount and merchant. Note that transactions confirmed with a 3-D Secure code or made through Apple Pay or Google Pay are treated as authorized by you and are much harder to dispute.
Can I withdraw cash?
Yes, with the physical card at any ATM that accepts the card scheme. The virtual card doesn’t work at ATMs. Fees and limits are on the Fees and limits page.
What currency is my balance in, and how is the rate set?
Your balance is held in USD or HKD. Top-ups are credited at 1 USDT = 1 USD. When you pay in another currency, the amount is converted at the Visa card scheme rate on the processing date with no Magic Pay markup; the final amount is shown in the app before you confirm.
Can I pay with my phone?
Yes. Add the virtual or physical card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. See the Apple Pay and Google Pay page.
Account and security
I forgot my password or changed my phone.
Nothing is tied to the device. Open app.magic.top on the new phone and log in with your email and password. If you forgot your password, use “Forgot password” on the login screen.
How do I contact support?
Through the Support button in the app. It’s the only official channel. We never reach out first on messaging apps or by phone.
How do I close my account?
In the app, in account settings. Withdraw your remaining balance first; any open disputes must be resolved before closure.
Do I have to pay taxes on card spending?
We don’t give tax advice. The rules depend on your country of residence. To help, you can export a statement of all your transactions from the app.
How is my personal data protected?
Your documents are processed by our verification provider and stored under strict access controls. Card data is tokenized. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Individual exchange transactions
Can I buy USDT with fiat currency?
Yes. Clients who have successfully completed KYC/AML checks may be eligible for individual agency transactions involving fiat currencies and virtual assets. The terms of each transaction are agreed individually and set out in the relevant contractual documents. Details are on the Individual exchange transactions page.
Can I send RUB, AED or USD and receive USDT?
Such a transaction may be available following an individual review of the client and completion of the required checks. The availability of a specific currency, the settlement method and the terms of the transaction are confirmed by Magic before it is carried out.
